IAPS SKIING

Tournament information

Age groups
  • U9
  • U11 (U9 – U11 inclusive)
  • U13 (U9 – U13 inclusive)

  • Team
  • Teams must be made up of competitors from the same school.
  • A maximum of 4 competitors in a team, with a minimum of 3.

  • Schedule
    Saturday or Sunday - Schools arrive
    Monday - Race training
    Tuesday - Qualifying race and team selection
    Wednesday - Ski championships and plate finals
    Thursday - Parents fancy dress race, awards ceremony
    Friday - Schools depart

    Equipment
  • We encourage schools to bring their own race skis and boots.
  • The Bulferetti family can assist your school in transporting equipment to the competition.
  • Ski helmets must be worn at all times.

  • As the official merchandisers for IAPS, they sell branded products both online and at events throughout the year. All of the commission made from the merchandise is reinvested into the sports programme, to keep improving the events every year.

  • Team hoodies
  • Shirt Logos can produce team hoodies for schools. Place your order online and have your personalised hoodies sent directly to your school or collect them at the event.

  • Entry Requirements

    Entry numbers
  • Schools may enter a maximum of 12 competitors into the competition initially, with a ratio of 1 adult for every 6 competitors.
  • There is an initial cap on entries in order to open the competition up to as many schools as possible.
  • If there is adequate space in the championships, schools will be invited to enter more competitors if they wish to, up to a maximum of 16.
  • If schools would like to enter more than 12 competitors, please make a note of how many extra places you would like on the competitors details form.

  • Eligibility
  • All competitors must attend an IAPS school.
  • Competitors may only compete in one age group throughout the competition.
  • Only a member of school staff, with a school email address, can book onto IAPS sports events online.
  • Bookings are made on a first come, first served basis.

  • Date of birth
  • The competitors age must be taken from the 1 September 2018.


  • National governing body

    The national governing body for skiing in England is British Ski and Snowboard (BSS).


    Costs and accommodation

    Costs
  • Click here for the cost of the Championships.
  • Direct flights to Italy are not included in the cost of the event and should be booked by your school.

  • Accommodation
  • All school staff, competitors and coaches will be given priority for booking in either the Mirella (Ponte de Legno) or Dolomiti (Passo de Tonale) Hotels.
  • Whilst we encourage spectators to come and are delighted to have them supporting the event, this is a schools championships and priority must be given to our schools in the main hotels.
  • Parents will not be accommodated in either the Dolomiti or Mirella hotel until all schools have been accommodated for and the event is full.
  • If schools wish to stay with their parents, they will be accomodated in sister hotels in Passo de Tonale.

  • Competitor details
  • Schools must complete their competitors details for the event online before the entry deadline.
  • The link to submit your competitors details can be found in the confirmation email sent to you immediately after booking online.
  • If you do not receive the confirmation email for any reason, you can log into your account via our website and re-send yourself the email.
