Competitions

IAPS Gymnastics is a team event with a maximum 6 in a team.

5 Piece Girls
Any 5 gymnasts from the team compete on each of the 4 disciplines:
  • Set Vault
  • Voluntary Vault
  • Set Floor
  • Voluntary Floor (to music)

  • 2 piece Girls (U10, U11, U13)
    Any 5 gymnasts from the team compete on each of the following 2 disciplines:
  • Voluntary Vault
  • Set Floor

  • 2 piece Girls (U9)
    Any 5 gymnasts from the team compete on each of the following 2 disciplines:
  • Voluntary Vault
  • Set Floor

  • 2 piece Boys
    Any 5 gymnasts from the team compete on each of the following 2 disciplines:
  • Voluntary Vault
  • Set Floor

  • Groups Sequence competition for girls
    4 team members compete a synchronised sequence to music lasting 1 1/2 minutes.

    Tournament information

    Team size
  • Teams should be made up of between 4-6 boys or girls.
  • Teams should be single sex.

  • Scoring
  • The top four scores on each discipline will count.
  • The scores will be added together to produce team scores along with individual scores.
  • Each gymnast will have all of their own marks totalled to culminate in an individual ranking.

  • Entry requirements

    Age groups
  • Girls: U9, U10, U11, U13
  • Boys: U9, U11, U13

    Eligibility
  • Schools can enter one team in each age group for the boys competition. In the girls competition, a coach must choose between the novice and the advanced competition for each team but may not choose to put two girls teams in the same age group.
  • All competitors must attend an IAPS School.
  • Competitors may only compete in one age group throughout the competition.
  • Schools should enter as a team.
  • Individual entries will be not accepted.
  • Only a member of school staff, with a school email address, can book onto IAPS sports events online.
  • Bookings are made on a first come, first served basis.

  • Date of birth
  • The competitors date of birth is taken form 1 September 2019.

  • Advice

  • For any school that enters more than one team: it is advisable to bring at least 2 members of staff with you to the competition.
  • The competitions run concurrently across 2 sports halls so your teams may be performing at the same time.

  • Team hoodies
  • Shirt Logos can produce team hoodies for schools. Place your order online and have your personalised hoodies sent directly to your school or collect them at the event.

  • Pre Order
  • IAPS merchandise is available to purchase for schools that have entered this event.
  • We strongly advise you to pre-order your items so they can be collected at the event or be delivered to the school.

  • Please look at the Novice U9 set floor as this is quite different from the Advanced U9 set floor so please read these carefully before entering

  • The national governing body for gymnastics in England is British Gymnastics.

  • Competitor details
  • Once you have booked for this event, you must complete your competitors details online before the entry deadline.
  • The link to submit your competitors details can be found in the confirmation email sent to you immediately after booking online.
  • If you do not receive the confirmation email, you can log into your account via our website and re-send yourself the email.

  • Safeguarding
  • IAPS believe that the welfare and wellbeing of all children and adults at risk attending an IAPS event is of the highest concern.
  • The IAPS Safeguarding Policy and Procedures sets out our approach to safeguarding and child protection.

  • Risk assessment
  • A full risk assessment is carried out between IAPS and host venues.
  • A copy can be provided on request. Please contact sport@iaps.uk .

  • Photography
  • There will be no professional photography at any IAPS events.
  • Parents and spectators can take their own pictures. There is no law against taking photos at public events for personal use, including pictures of other people's children.
