IAPS National Gymnastics Championships

The annual IAPS National Gymnastics Championships hosted by Kent College, Pembury.

For the first time, the IAPS National Gymnastics Championships were open to both boys and girls. With around 375 children from 30 schools taking part, it was wonderful to have eight boys’ teams joining the 55 girls’ teams at Kent College, Pembury, Kent, on Saturday, 25 November. Special mention must go to St Faith’s School who had a team in every category.

Kent College was our new host venue for 2017. The facilities were fantastic and included two fully functioning sports halls; at one point, there were nine vaults in action at the same time. The extra space allowed the competition to take place over one day, rather than two as in previous years. We would like to thank Kent College for welcoming the schools and spectators to the competition.

As well as the enthusiastic supporters, teachers and coaches, 30 judges had volunteered their time at the Championships. We are indebted to all the help our volunteer judges provide at our events. The knowledge and experience they have of the sport means that we can provide a top quality competition for the children.

Thanks and congratulations go to the children  who took part and the spectators, teachers and coaches for their support. We would also like to thank Linda North and Georgina Hughes for their hard work to organise such an enjoyable day.
