Event Report and Results
It was great to welcome eight schools to Sherborne for the inaugural U11 IAPS rugby festival.
The sun shone all day, the parents supported with an abundance of enthusiasm and most significantly, the boys played seven games of rugby with beaming smiles on their faces.
Embracing the RFU's guidelines for game time, was another real success, which saw all of the boys gaining equal opportunities. The change of focus provided by not scoring the matches allowed all eight teams to play some exciting and entertaining rugby without any score board pressure. We were thoroughly impressed by the manner in which all schools approached the day.
It was a joy to see and provided a wonderful day of free flowing rugby at one of the finest settings for school boy rugby in the country. Sherborne School were wonderful hosts and laid out the red carpet for everyone and for that we are enormously grateful. A grand total of 88 tries were scored on the day which sets a great bench mark for next year’s event.
and very much look forward to welcoming everyone back again next year.
